Football recollection

For some strange reason, i am reminded of playing futsal back in NZ, down at the wharf in one of the warehouses. The futsal court had a low wall around and so the ball could be played against the wall on the sides (but not on the ends), while the goal itself was about the same height as the wall and fairly wide. Only the goalkeeper is allowed in the D area around the goal but because of the width, it is pretty easy to score one v one.

I got to play there a few times when a few regulars from the team could not make in, and usually we had fun, especially when i had a Brazilian or two on my team. By and large, the standard and style of kiwis we played against was pretty pedestrian and boring. Possession soccer was yet to be the in thing, but we had the mentality that playing street soccer was all about keeping the ball and denying the other side. So for the most part, it was a slaughter. Hilarious. =)
