thoughts for the day

Been busy lately preparing for our big day and other stuff (like exams) that I hardly have time to write in here.

Recently I’ve been going through videographers, and I must say that there are some that are good, and there are some which are bad, despite being recommended by friends and whatnot.  Then there are some who exude genuine passion for their job that I can’t help but admire them (even though some of their video styles doesn’t agree with us). Going through quite a few portfolios have also given us an insight into what other people go through on their wedding day, I just hope ours goes smoothly and that the weather is kind to us.

In world news, I note Burma is under internal strife at the moment, with the maroon-robed monks leading the way (ed: these are different from orange-robed monks (from China) who can open a can of Shaolinesque whoop-ass). I can’t help but think of a couple of monks who guided us around the pagoda in Rangoon, and wonder how they are doing.  We did give them a small donation (one was planning to head overseas to study in a varsity), and wished them well, just as they wished us well. Sigh.

News of home from abroad

I found it strange that i had to read the news about Singapore stopping missile parts bound for Iran from other news sources, like on stuff.co.nz and from Reuters.

Is there some underlying reason why this wasn't published in our local MSM? I had a look through asiaone.com and didn't find anything on it. And the funny thing is that it was apparently reported in ST. I should check it out i guess. Anyways, the main gist of it is that a Singapore-based cargo forwarding company has been fined $S22,000 for trying to export missile parts to Iran without permission.

I can imagine the jokes already, like
"Excuse me sir, can i have you passport please? Oh, is that a missile in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"

Good on our boys in blue to catch the shipment.

Best ice kachang ever period

If you wonder where the best dessert to have on a hot sunny day, look no further than the temporary food centre at outram. No colouring used, just pure gula melaka and the finest softest ice i've ever had. Highly recommended. In fact, out of 5 it would score "omg", it is that good.

Creperie Armen

Our favourite french restaurant is closing its doors on the 15th of this month. Sigh. We're going to miss it terribly.

6-0 against Derby

Beautiful play, wonderful passing, brilliant finishing, great result. Looking real strong this season, and i think we can win the league this season, even tho next season is more realistic. Still a guy can hope. :)

Parking rant

So there we were yesterday at the mall looking for a place to park the car when we noticed the specimen of parallex error parking. Check it out! Not only is this clown encroaching into the neighbouring lot, but also sticking out enough to pose a danger to other cars. Wonderful example of selfish behavior, idiotic attitude and lousy parking skills, all in one!
