As promised, some photos from our seminar venue.

A very impressive place which highlighted the wealth of someone from way back. Really cool stuff, wish my grandparent's place was still around, afterall it was designed and built by my grandfather. Unfortunately, that entire 'village' of houses which housed a significant portion of the clan was demolished to make way for HDB flats. Oh well, the price of progress i guess.

Will be away at a seminar here for the next few days. What struck me was the location, as i've walked by, driven by and passed by this place so many times, yet never knew it looked so good inside. Promise to post pictures of the very well-done interior soon.

I've always maintained that if you want interesting things to see, you have to look no further than our mrt rides. Why just this morning, something interesting happened to me on the way to work... LOL

to the woman who was sitting on my right this morning, if you could open your eyes, you would see that i am already squashed up against the fat well-endowed woman on my left, yet i've managed to stay within the boundaries of my seat. I recognise that you too have a fat well-endowed woman on the other side (your right), who was also enroaching on your space, BUT do you have to keep looking at the tiny gap between us and keep clucking your tongue? If it is a medical condition that causes you to keep making such "tsk" noises, it can't be healthy and i suggest you see a specialst about it. i could suggest one, only that you'd probably have to take the mrt there too.

km8 review

Went to Sentosa to pick up WW on Sat, after she attended a wedding there (not hers lah!). Being a typical S'porean, i thought must make full use of the 4 dollah entry that i had to pay, so we hung out at some of the bars there.
The first place was really cool and had great music consisting of a guy with a laptop (and other assorted electronic gadgets) and a singer, saxphonist, and guitarist. Jazzy chill-out music, i likee. Turns out a famous blogger was there with a companion too!

After they finished their set (i thought i heard the song "Lovely day" mixed somewhere in it), we went over to Tanjong Beach, purely for sentimental reasons, but found that they had demolished our special spot. In its place: KM8:
"A new beach bar called Km8 tucked away in Sentosa's Tanjong Beach comes close enough, going by the crowds that throng the 5,000sq ft set-up on weekends."

It was quite a nice place (see other reviews here), the drinks were affordable and the snacks were crispy (chicken wings). We counted the stars and imagined the clouds, while laying on the spacious deck chairs in the gloom of midnight. A candle beside us illuminated the drinks, but aside from its tiny flame, our surroundings were a mixture of shadows and darkness, very lomantic hor?

Definitely go back again, especially later in the night, just to chill and space out.
